CAPE BOUVARD® WINERY & BREWERY RESTAURANT

Served daily (except Mondays) at very reasonable prices. Our motto is that quality food shouldn’t cost the Earth. The Cape Bouvard® Winery & Brewery restaurant serves light meals for lunches, snacks, and café style food. The restaurant has tables and chairs to seat approximately 150 people, including 6 tables in the indoor dining area and 25 tables in the outdoor dining area.

The restaurant makes Australian cuisine featuring local produce wherever possible e.g. cheese plater with locally made cheeses, local fish and prawns. This makes your visit a truly local experience.

LOCAL PRODUCE

The Cape Bouvard® Winery has since 2003 offered, in addition to its wine and café style food, a variety of local produce such as pickles, relishes, chutneys, olives, jams and prunes marinaded in port, all sourced from the local area in which winery is located.

These products have proven popular with tourists and other visitors to the Premises.

Cape Bouvard® wines are produced from a selection of premium grapes grown in the South West region of Western Australia. Price per bottle shown below.

WHITES



Sauvignon Blanc 2012 $18.50
(approx. 13.2% alc/vol.) Bursting with tropical fruit flavours highlighting the best expression of pristine fruit. The fruit was sourced from down south to enable to dry finish to an excellent wine.
Chenin Blanc 2012 $16.00
(approx. 13.8% alc/vol.) Pale yellow gold, intense floral with fresh tropical fruit flavour on the palate. Well balanced with a soft finish.
Verdello 2012 $16.50
(approx. 13.1% alc/vol.) A clean crisp wine with apricot and honeysuckle aromas. Sweet lime flavours with good balance and length
Chardonnay 2012 $16.50
(approx. 13.4% alc/vol.) An excellent example of rich ripe peach and cashew nut aromas and finishing with a dryness on the palate.
Classic White 2012 $16.50
(approx. 13.3% alc/vol.) Snappingly fresh, grassy and hints of citrus flavours. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay with a small amount of Semillon. Excellent for drinking now.

REDS



Ruff Red (2009 Merlot) $10.00
(approx. 13.4% alc/vol.) Mainly merlot with a touch of shiraz with heaps of savoury tannins. Does not have a lot of weight and despite its structure it is better drinking now as very little preservatives were used in the making.
Grenache' (Rose Style) $16.00
(approx. 13.8% alc/vol.) Rosé style with a real fruity flavour, very fresh, clean and crisp. Popular with a cheese platter on a warm sunny day.
Dry Red 2009 $10.00
(approx. 13.4% alc/vol.)
Merlot 2010 $16.50
(approx. 13.2% alc/vol.) Smooth on the palate highlighting a fruity varietal structure with wine showing tannins.
Shiraz 2009 $16.50
(approx. 13.8% alc/vol.) Dark cherry with the palate deliciously showing coffee and chocolate with soft tannins. The fruit was grown under organic conditions.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 $16.50
(approx. 14% alc/vol.) Tastes of blackcurrents, medium bodied, well balanced with fine tannins and a hint of American oak.

SPARKLING



Sparkling Red 2011 $16.50
(approx. 12% alc/vol.) An excellent example of rich ripe peach and cashew nut aromas and finishing with a dryness on the palate.
Sparkling Brut 2011 $16.50
(approx. 12% alc/vol.) A bubbly for any occasion, it is full and inviting with fine bead, complex layers of fruit, nuances of caramel and yeast. Chardonnay based.

PORTS



Vintage Port 2003 $17.50
(approx. 18% alc/vol.) A single vintage and aged in inert cooperage. This vintage was shiraz fruit of high quality and is unfined giving a complex aroma and bouquet.
Ruby (Young Tawney) 2007 $18.00
(approx. 17.8% alc/vol.) Derived from the blending of wines (red) from several vintages and aging occurs predominantly in oak barrels (300 litres).
White Port 2008 $18.00
(approx. 18% alc/vol.) Derived from white grapes and matured similarly to Ruby Ports. The sweet style often superficially resembles Amaroso sherries. Generally served chilled.
Ginger Wine $15.00
(approx. 18% alc/vol.)
Liqueur Muscat 2007 $17.50
(approx. 18.2% alc/vol.) Muscat varieties produce high levels of sugar and the Asti method of stopping fermentation produce a sweet exceptional quality of fortified wine. A great after dinner nip.

Beer

OURBEER AND CIDER SELECTION

Our beers are available on tap, served fresh to your glass direct from our brewery. Hand crafted in small batches, all Cape Bouvard® beers are 100% preservative-free.
BLONDE ALE (4.4% Acl/vol.)
Pale, crisp, light-bodied and fairly dry, with a distinctive wine-like flavour and aroma. Similar to a pilsner, but with a subtle fruitiness typical of ales. Very drinkable. A great beer for people who don't drink beer, and popular with the ladies.
Blonde Ale is a great aperitif to get the taste buds flowing. The agreeable nature of this beer means that is will get along well with many foods. We recommend a glass with our Smoked Salmon and Salad.

PALE ALE (4.6% alc/vol.)
A popular favourite, this reddish-copper, decidedly hoppy and bitter ale displays a prominent hop aroma, without being overpowering. Citrusy, floral, perfume-like fruity character, supported by clean, malty sweetness, caramel and toast. Lingering hop bitterness melts into a Medium-dry finish.
APPLE CIDER (5.0% alc/vol.)
A non-filtered cider, moderately carbonated and packed full of flavour, finishing with a satisfying, sweet aftertaste. Made from locally-sourced apples, crushed on site for maximum freshness
VIENNA LAGER (3.5% alc/vol.)
A mid-strength amber lager characterised by soft, elegant maltiness and a dry, crisp finish. Full malt flavoured and hop bitterness to provide a balanced finish but lower in alcohol, so you can enjoy a few.
Typical mid-strength beer is fairly watery and tasteless – lacking mouth feel and flavour. However, the Cape Bouvard® Vienna Lager combines fine Viennese malt and Continental hops with traditional German brewing techniques to produce a full malt flavoured amber lager you're sure to enjoy.

WHEAT BEER (5.0% alc/vol.)
A Light, bubbly, cloudy Bavarian wheat beer. Distinctive clove, banana and citrus flavours and aromas result from the use of unique strains of yeast, balanced by a soft, grainy maltiness. The sweet aromas are accentuated by a thick, long-lasting, rocky head. A great session beer.
The Cape Bouvard® Wheat Beer pairs well with our cheese platter or banana or citrus style desserts to bring out the banana and spice from this beer.

CAPE BOUVARD® SPARKLING RAIN WATER
Possibly a first of its kind, carbonated rain water made on site fresh from the pure, clean rain water from this natural, unpolluted South West coast.
DARK ALE (4.6% alc/vol.)
A very clean, crisp and relatively bitter beer, balanced by an assertive smooth and sweet malt back-bone and a rich, biscuity and light caramel flavour. Copper-colored with an aromatic hop presence and a firm creamy head. Unlike most dark beers, Cape Bouvard® Dark Ale is easy drinking with a medium body and a dry finish.
